Some Questions Answered.

* How long do the Exams Take ?

The Exams lengths vary from around 15 minutes for the early Grades up to as much as 45 minutes for the latter.

* Where are the Exams held ?

Usually they try to fit the exams around the local area. This area has centers in Leicestershire and Lincoln. If enough local people apply then a local venue can be requested.

* How much do the exams cost ?

Varies from £20 to around £55 for the grade 8.

* Do I actually need a teacher ?

You can apply for an exam on your own. It’s up to you entirely whether you think you would benefit from a tutor or not. Really it’s no different to any other exam,  You could do A levels by yourself if you wanted.

* Do I need to buy loads of books ?

No.  you can check the syllabus and trail the net for info.  but I would advise getting the relevant books considering they are relatively cheap.

* Do I have to read music ?

No. But you do need to learn some relevant theory.

* How often should I practice ?

That depends entirely on the individual. though you should always practice little and often!  Rather than 5 hours on a Sunday only.

* How much do lessons cost.

The going rate for lessons is about £16 an hour. As much as £40+ for advance professional level.  {but that usually comes with relevant resource materials.)
